We are part of a church founded on missions
Even before its official formation in 1908 in Pilot Point Texas, the Church of the Nazarene has been missional. We continue that heritage globally with over 29,000 churches in 165 world areas and growing. Nazarene Missions International (NMI) is the ministry within the General Church of the Nazarene that is responsible for over 450 missionaries and ministries that support them.
Education is an important aspect of sharing Jesus across many languages and cultures so a consistent focus of the church and its missions have brought about, 49 educational institutions, including nine graduate seminaries/theological colleges, 13 liberal arts colleges/universities (12 with graduate programs), 24 undergraduate seminaries/theological colleges, eight certificate and diploma Bible colleges, two nurses training colleges, one teacher training college, and 866 education centers (approved extension centers) had a 2025 combined enrollment of 45,525 students globally.
Caring and compassion are also central to the mission of the church, with thousands of crisis care kits and school supply kits provided by local churches and distributed around the world.
Work and Witness teams of volunteers commit to short-term mission trips of about two weeks to build, repair, and upgrade ministry facilities in some of the most demanding environments while sharing the Gospel with those they help and work alongside.

Global Missions
Jamaica
The Church has been organizing mission trips to Jamaica since 2018. Our work has been in the Western District of Jamaica in Westmoreland and Saint James Parish. We have had 14- 20 individuals participating in each trip. Projects have included:
At Burnt Savannah Church of the Nazarene, Westmoreland:
Construction of a Trade School for Teens
Modernizing and refreshing a pre-school
Repairs to the church and community housing
At Barrett Hall Church of the Nazarene, Saint James: Construction of a new church building (still under construction)
2027 projects:
installing a roof at the Barrett Hall Church
Refreshing buildings and Mission House at Burnt Savannah.
We also work with teachers in the preschool, hold Vacation Bible School, and play sports such as soccer and volleyball with the community
